Summer Year-01 (NYC)

June 1 A letter from the International Students and Scholars Office of CU needs to be sent to the appropriate Graduate School (WGSMS/RU) specifying that the temporary campus location is affiliated with the institution with which the I-20 is issued and that there is a pre-established arrangement between the institutions permitting employment at off-campus location (international students only) CU TPCB administration
June 30 Housing assignments for CU students for their third semester in NYC are finalized. Housing is split between the WMC/SKI and RU Graduate Schools NYC TPCB administration

Summer Year-02

Late August CU TPCB Students arrive in NYC. These students receive their stipends and health insurance coverage from the institution at which they are housed. NYC TPCB administration
Late August Upon arrival, CU TPCB students should visit the Graduate School Office, Human Resources Department, and Housing Office of the institution at which they are housed Student
August 31 ALL 2ND YEAR STUDENTS MUST REGISTER WITH WMC FOR THE REQUIRED TPCB COURSE Student with WMC Graduate School
September–December All 3rd semester students pursue approved graduate level coursework.
The required course is:
Advanced Biomedical Sciences
All TPCB students residing in NYC must participate in: Research in Progress/Journal Club
Students may also choose graduate level courses at either RU or the WMC Graduate School
Course work is chosen by students in consultation with temporary advisors
December 1 Student must make official declaration of thesis mentor and institution at which he/she will pursue Ph.D. thesis Student
  If student chooses Cornell University Laboratory, he/she should constitute an official thesis committee consistent with the CU Graduate School's policies and procedures. Students are required to include at least one committee members from the Weill graduate school or Rockefeller University as a minor committee member  
  If student chooses a Weill Graduate School or Rockefeller University Laboratory, student must complete and submit a Transfer Status form to CU Graduate School Office Student must submit form to CU TPCB administration
  Students choosing a Weill Graduate School or Rockefeller University laboratory will constitute their thesis committees in accordance with those graduate school's policies and procedures and must also include one minor committee member from CU  

Second Semester Year-02

Year-03

September 2 "A" Exam (including a 10 page single spaced written proposal) must be successfully completed and registered according to guidelines of graduate school with which student is matriculated Student (A copy should be filed with the NYC TPCB administration)

Year-04 and Beyond

  Annual meetings of the thesis advisory committee must be held and a report filed with the NYC TPCB administration Student

At All Times in the TPCB Program

Students are required to abide by all of the policies and guidelines of the graduate school in which they are matriculated for their thesis research Student
ALL TPCB students are required to participate in:
- Weekly TPCB journal clubs and seminar series
- Annual Tri-Institutional TPCB symposium/retreat (new feature to be implemented)
(CU students participate in existing journal club and research presentation forums on Ithaca campus)
The student is responsible for meeting ALL deadlines. Failure to comply with any deadline may result in the student's status being placed on hold, thus preventing them from registering for future semesters. The TPCB program staff will facilitate the coordination of these processes.
