Year-02 and Beyond

For NYC students: Required participation in the WGSMS course “Scientific Presentation and Critique” (directed by CBM faculty members Emre Aksay and David Christini; details are available here.

A or Ace Exam: All students will write and defend a thesis proposal for their A exam or ACE exam.  The exam must be successfully completed and registered according to the guidelines of the graduate school in which the student is matriculated. Originals of all required forms must be filed with the appropriate graduate school, and duplicates must be filed with the CBM office.

End of Year 2

Required participation in institutional “Responsible Conduct for Research" course. Attendance is required by either institutional policy and/or federal government mandate.

Annually Annual meetings (at least annually...bi-anual meetings are strongly recommended) of the Thesis Advisory Committee must be held and a report filed with the appropriate graduate school and CBM office.
